One of ye three Gravers of Her Majts. Mint

In the Tower of London

Sheweth

That in ye month of Iune 1706 (there being then little or no business for him at ye Tower) he obtained Leave from ye principal Officers of ye Mint. to go for {illeg} for three months to see his parents & settle some affaires there, but being afterwards detained there by ye Electors. Hannover & Palatine to performe some services in ye Mints. Their brightness did from time to time by theire Minister here solicit for his longer stay till those services were perform'd as the Elector Palatine hath signify'd to Yor Lordsp by Letter. & Barron Schutz has likewise commands to attend your Lordsp from yor Elector of Hannover to ye same purpose

That yor. Peionr was detained abroad five Quarters in ꝑ ye services aforesaid amounting to one hundred pounds ( {sic}which he humbly hoped to have servd. at His return but Sr. Isaac Newton informs thim that the accott. for ye last year are made up & therefore cann̄ot pay him his salary due without yor. Lordsps particuler direion

He therefore humbly prays your Lordsps consideraion to his services abroad, attended wth the recomendaion of those noble princes who occaiond his stay & in regard theire Ministers here did from time to time obtaine have for his absence. humbly hope yor. Lordsp will give imediate direion. that he may be paid his saide five Quarters salary to enable him to go on cheerfully in his duty for ye future
